Mortimer Beckett's back for an all-new, eye-popping adventure! Although Mortimer was able to get rid of the ghosts in his last outing, his Uncle Jerome's home is now host to another ominous challenge - a time portal! Even worse, the Time Bomb that Jerome built to close the portal has been scattered across eight different eras! Join Mortimer for a wild trip to find the scattered Time Bomb, put it back together, and close the portal before it's too late! on 01/27/10 09:00pm
I'm delighted to have made Mr. Beckett's acquaintance and going along on this adventure has been a hoot! Don't be fooled by the cartoonish graphics. This is anything but a child's game. Primarily a hidden object game, it's necessary to jump around in time and solve puzzles, replace bits of anachronistic gadgets and generally clean up time travel messes, but all the puzzles are relevant to the game's theme. They also get progressively more difficult. After successfully navigating through Vikings, French Revolutionaries and Caribbean pirates, I'm currently stuck in Ancient Egypt, but have hopes of escaping through the Portal any time now. Each era has several locations and pieces of objects are found at each site. Before an object can be used at another location, it must be fully assembled and sometimes puzzles must be solved before all the pieces show up. The Hint button is very friendly, and extremely rare options to skip puzzles. Some of the puzzles require advanced reasoning and observation of other sites and can be frustrating (keeping scrap paper at hand is advisable) but not impossible. Yet.I'm thrilled to see more Mortimer Becketts out there and am counting on a long and fun filled friendship.

This is a fun game for a couple hours but I wish it had been longer. After you finish it the first time it does at least change the locations of where things are hidden so as to not be too boring the second time around. Also, as with any downloadable game, you want to download the free trial before purchasing it to make sure it will work on your computer. I don't have a nice graphics card in mine so not every game will work- for instance, Peggle Nights. I can download it and start it but it is too slow to play. The free trial download is a great test that won't cost you anything.

I usually get tired of hidden object hunts but in this game the objects you hunted were relevant and were related to the puzzles you solve. The graphics were really great, and for the first time I can recall I actually enjoyed the music! It was really fun seeing the different scenarios they came up with throughout history. I thought the "robot age" was going to be corny, but it was the coolest one of all. Very nicely done all around.

I enjoyed the first Mortimer Beckett, and was definitely looking forward to the new one. I was not at all disappointed. This MB has the player travelling through time, seeking out the pieces of objects that will complete puzzles necessary to advance to the next level. The graphics on this game are truly fantastic. We go with Mortimer throughout time- to ancient Egypt, Camelot, a robot lab in the future, and many more. The puzzles are harder than those in the first game, and the game was longer than the first. Those who loved the first MB, or those who enjoy hidden object games generally should definitely try out this game.
